Escape:
Some time, when you're having a really good time, and you're with someone you like, then you wish you were observing yourself, moving towards a black hole. Because then you would see time slow down. But if you are in i place you dont like, and you want to get out of there, you wish you were moving towards a black hole, because general relativity states that then you would feel like you moved faster and faster toward the black hole.

I was always so fascinated by the saying that heaven is so wonderful that a human will not be able to imagine what it's like. here the other day i saw something that was so beautiful ,i could never have imagined anything so wonderfull. And i thought is this heaven? But it was made by james cameron, another human. And i thought the beuty of heaven just increased exponetially, just because a human like james could imagine something so beautiful, and he still cant measure up to heaven.
I was also impressed by how far 3D tecnology has come. In the past i have been bothered if the film is in 3D, because it was not convinsing enough. It looked more like 2D pictures put behind eachother rather than 3D. But not this time. It was just absolutely convinsing. most of the time during the film i did not even think of it, it was so natural. I was impressed.
So i started wondering how 3D glasses works:
you have two projectors. One only emitting vertically occilating light beams, and another only emiting horizontally occilating light beams. The light beams form each they're image, one slightly different than the other (like the image each seperate eye is slightly different). in your 3D glasses there are, on one eye horisontal barricades like a blinder, on the other eye you have vertical barricades. when the vertical light hits the horisontal baricade it stops just like trying to take a stick through prison bars when its turned 90 degrees compare to the bars. but when the vertical light hits the vertical baricade (rotate the stick) it is free to pass through. Resulting in one of your eyes seing only the image from one projector, and the other eye only seing the image of the other projector. Your eyes will then see two slightly different images just like they do for interpeting 3D in real life:)
avatar tecnology has also come further than we maybe realize. I've never heard of physical avatars yet, but virtual avatars is widely known. When i first heard of it i thought 'thats not going to hit off, people would rather live their own life, than some virtual profile who doesnt really exist. but then i saw that movie. and now i think i understand it much better. I still dont think avatar tecnology is good enough yet to be worth spending your time on, but this film made me se that it cam be worth it in the future.
all in all that film was much more than sci.fi to me. It gave me a glimpse of the future. The tecnological future, and the heavenly future. my grandparents could not imagine airplanes in thei're childhood, but we have them. Avatar is maybe just another sci.fi to us today, but when i'm a grandparent, my grandchildren will have avatars. unless god play his wild card before that time..

New year resolutions
Everybody has them. I usually don't. But that's because I'm usually happy with the way I am. But as you all know, last year was not a particularly good one for me. In fact, it was very hard. I spent too much time at home, alone, too much time with the TV, not knowing what to do with my life, with my sad long lonely days. So this year I actually have have a resolution. Just one. You see, if you have too many, you wont be able to fulfill any of them. The one I've picked is not very hard either. It shouldn't be at lest, considering I am finally free to do as I want again.
I want to be a person who I'd like to hang out with. A kind of person who is content with her own company.

Barne-tv driver vranglære
On childrens TV this morning I heard a cartoon pinguin say that the length of a side in a triangle is equal to the square of the remaining two. Wich is wrong. How cant they teach children such blasfemy? I'm shure it was an attempt to present then to phytagoras, but they failed. They made it sound like it was arbitrary which side you picks, and that it works for any tiangle, but that is wrong. Not so long ago i heard also that all primes comes in pairs. I checked it out, and that is not completely true either. (like 23 or 37) What it did say was that there are infinetly many primes p such that p+2 is also a prime.
Merry christmas everyone.

This week i've desided to solve all the world's problems. It's kinda working, but its going a little slow. I might make it by friday, if i'm lucky. but by then i'll be very tired. If i dont make it, i'll have to do it in the begining of next week. then i'll make it for shure. the problem is that by then, the world will have gotten a new problem, and i'll have to solve that too. And there you have it. the eternal chase of a student trying to catch up..

ARR, been there, done that, got the t-shirt.
Last day. We had a lecture and i dont remember at all what it was about. But the presentations us students had of our week, i remember. We taped names off all the komponents of the TM on our chest, and held hands to show how they were conected. Our presentation was a lot of fun. Dag-Martin was the antenna because he's so good at drawing them. He was the best group-teacher ever, and made our week a lot of fun! So after evaluation and getting the t-shirts, we're going to eat cake before we have to go to the airport to wait for houers. Now I'm going home to sleep after a working for 54 hours in one week.:)

ARR d-day.
We started off with pre-flight meeting. All the different stations had to raport the status. After that we went to each our station. Adam and James controlled the Student TM, while me and Raimo controlled the Main TM (Telemetry station). You know that scene in apollo 13 where they are about to launch, they're going through the flightplan and everybody has to give a go-no go signal. It was JUST like that. Seing that i was the Main TM leader, i had to do the talking with the Control Tower, pushing the green ready button, make shure that we had a locked signal and that we were recording. And report that we were getting data after launch. We had some problems with the new slant-range machine, so we ended up using the old system. It was a great success, we got the rocket signal with the antenna perfectly, and did not loose it once with any of the three antennas. Following we had a post flight meeting.I reported how it went, and explained our problem. When testing the slant range machine, it was tested with a bit rate of 262.5 for the dummy-payload. The actual payload howeer had a bit rate of 255, making the slant range machine completley off. The employee of ARR who were in the Main TM with us could not fix that right away, so we had to go without. We had a couple of lectures in the evening, everybody said they were really interesting, but i wouldnt know cause i was so tired. Then we have to write a presentation for tomorrow, telling what we have done and learned. Tonight there is a going away/ Successful flight party!:) Fun fun.
